Pointing Your Domain With Hover (Formerly Domain Direct)

Quick Answer

Edit your “@” record under the “DNS” tab once you’re in the Domain Details area for your domain; point it to and save; log into your site, then click “More” and select “URL / Custom Tracking Code“; enter the domain in the Top Level Domain field, select “Redirect Subdomain to Top Level Domain” and save.

Detailed Answer

You can easily connect your own domain to your site, and here are the steps for how to do this if you’ve registered your domain through Hover (note: the following instructions assume you’ve already registered your domain through Hover, and be aware that it can take up to 48 hours for the domain to propagate fully).

1. Login to your Hover Account & Access Your Domain Details

Login, and enter your Username and password, and click “Sign in”. If you have more than one domain name listed in your account, click on the domain name that you want to point to your site. This will take you to its Domain Details page.

2. Go To Your DNS Settings

Click on the DNS tab to manage records for the selected domain name.

Click on "DNS" to edit the "A Record"

Click on “DNS” to edit the “A Record”

3. Point Your Domain to our IP Address

If there’s already an “@” record under “Host Name” (Record Type should have “A” selected from the drop-down), change the “Value” by entering (Our IP address), and then click “Save”. If there isn’t an “@” record under “Host Name” currently, click the “+ Add Record” button, enter “@” in the “Hostname” field, select “A” under “Record Type, and enter under “Value”. Click “Save” when you’re done. The “@” record should look like this:
